The Twins walked off the Boston Red Sox on Kyle Farmer's line drive single to center field in the bottom of the 10th inning Wednesday night at Target Field.

The bottom of the 10th started with Willi Castro opening the inning at second base followed by the Red Sox intentionally walking Christian Vazquez. Michael A. Taylor moved the runners to second and third with a sacrifice bunt, and with one out Farmer delivered the winner.

The victory keeps the Twins (37-38) in first place in the AL Central, but only one game ahead of Cleveland (35-38).

An extra inning of baseball wasn't the only drama in the game. In the fourth, Joey Gallo debated a called third strike and manager Rocco Baldelli was ejected for arguing the call. And then as Gallo was going onto the field to play defense in the fifth, he said something to the umpire to get ejected.

Max Kepler's second solo homer in as many days put the Twins ahead 4-3 in the sixth, but the Red Sox responded with a pair of hits to tie the game in the eighth inning – and they did it against Twins star right-hander Jhoan Duran.

Kepler finished 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Eddy Julien also had two hits for the Twins while Justin Turner led Boston with two hits, including a homer, and two RBIs.

Up next: Twins vs. Red Sox, Thursday at 12:10 p.m. CT.
