Watch: Man holding baby snags Royce Lewis HR ball with bare hand
The Minnesota Twins had a great night in their 4-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers, but a fan in the stands had an even better night, catching Royce Lewis's home run ball in spectacular fashion.
The highlight happened in the second inning when Lewis sent a fly ball over the left-field fence. According to Statcast, the ball was traveling with an exit velocity of 105.3 mph before landing in the right hand of a man who casually reached up and caught it while cradling a baby in his left arm.
The fans around the father gave him a quick ovation before the baby was safely returned to the mother so he could celebrate his unlocked parenting achievement.
It was the best catch at the left field wall all night, though Detroit's Andy Ibáñez was a close a second with his home-run-saving catch on Byron Buxton's deep shot in the ninth inning.
The Twins hope to create some of their own highlights when they play the Tigers in the second game of the series on Saturday night.
