Things weren't looking too hot for the Twins in the top of the first with runners at 1st and 2nd and zero outs and the dangerous Edwin Encarnacion at the plate.

However, Encarnacion rolled over on a ball to third base and Luis Arraez scooped it up, tagged third, and started a 5-4-3 triple play.

It's the 13th triple play in Twins history and the first since June 2017 against the Angels.

It's the fourth time the Twins have turned a triple play against the Yankees. They also did it against them in 1988, 1984 and 1982.

The Twins then got their bats started in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back homers by Jorge Polanco and Nelson Cruz.
