Adrian Peterson lands new endorsement deal with Adidas
With all off-the-field issues behind him, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is back on the field and playing well.
Peterson was leading the NFL in rushing through the first four weeks, and it looks like sponsors are starting to get behind him.
Peterson told reporters Thursday that he is back with Adidas, the same company whose shoes he wore during his MVP season in 2012, when he finished just shy of breaking the NFL's single season rushing record.
Peterson had been with Nike until he was indicted on child injury charges last September. Nike suspended its contract with Peterson the day he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list and terminated the deal when Peterson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges in November.
But AP insists he isn't worried about the number of endorsements he receives.
"I get a couple texts from my marketing guy, saying different things," Peterson said. "But I'll look at it and go on about my day. It's not really a big deal, to be honest with you. I'm with Adidas now, and that's well. But mostly, I'm focusing on football and handling business. Everything else will work out."
Peterson added that he's found a silver lining to the less hectic schedule. He told ESPN back in February that it gave him more time to work out and get ready for his return to football.
Thursday he said it also gave him more free time to spend with his kids.
