Alex Boone returns to practice
The Minnesota Vikings have already had their share of big injuries in 2016, but signs are pointing to a quick return for Vikings left guard Alex Boone.
Boone left Sunday's game at Carolina with a hip injury. He didn't return to the game and was scheduled for an MRI on Monday – so naturally everyone in Minnesota was assuming the worst.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer alleviated a few of those worries Monday when he confirmed that Boone should be ok to play Monday. The veteran took another step in that direction Friday returning to practice in a limited fashion.

Boone signed a 4-year $26.8 million contract with the Vikings during the offseason. He was the team's biggest free agent signing.
But that really hasn't helped the Vikings offensive line, which continues to struggle blocking for both the run and the pass.
ESPN notes that if for some reason Boone isn't able to play Monday night, Jeremiah Sirles would be ready to get the start against the Giants.
