Minnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris signed his franchise tender on Sunday, guaranteeing he'll be on the team in 2020. The tender is worth $11.441 million next season, but Harris and the team will continue to negotiate for a long-term deal.

"During the past five years, Minnesota has become home," Harris said in a post on his Twitter account. "[It is] where I want to continue to develop as a player having only scratched the surface."

Harris has been one of the best players in the Vikings secondary after signing as a UDFA in 2015. Last season, Harris had a true breakout, leading the NFL with six interceptions and was the second-highest graded safety among qualifiers per Pro Football Focus.

The signing of Harris squashes all trade rumors that had popped up earlier this season and now puts the focus on talks for a long term contract. With the tender putting the Vikings just under $1 million in salary-cap space, they'll need to figure out something prior to the July 15 deadline if they still plan on signing Dalvin Cook to a long-term deal.
