Are the Vikings poised to make a deep playoff run this season?

According to Purple Insider's Matthew Coller, it's a coin flip just to get out of the first round, which will presumably be against the Giants at U.S. Bank Stadium.

In the latest Purple Insider Extra, Coller was given the task of putting together a pie chart for how far he thinks the Vikings can go in the playoffs.

"The Vikings, of course, have a slight edge playing at US Bank Stadium. But considering the way the Giants played against them last time... I think that's still a fairly dangerous team."

Coller noted the Vikings' 11 one-score games this season as a reason for only giving them a 50% chance to get past New York in the Wild Card round.

After the first round the Vikings' chances of moving on start to fall off, with Coller giving them an 80% chance to be knocked out of the playoffs in the first two rounds.

"Based on some of the weaknesses and inconsistencies of the Vikings that they've shown over the second half of the season, going multiple games deep in the playoffs is just going to be difficult for them because of their weaknesses," says Coller.

Vikings fans hoping for a miracle Super Bowl run might want to avert their eyes as Coller is giving them a 3% chance to even reach the big game.

"I thought it was interesting looking at DraftKings Super Bowl odds where the Packers and Vikings have the same odds to win the Super Bowl (+3000) and the Packers aren't even officially in the playoffs yet," he explained.

Coller did leave room for hope noting the crazy NFL season and calling this the Vikings' "Anything is Possible Season."
