Davante Adams praises Kirk Cousins, acknowledges his 'availability'
You can put Raiders receiver Davante Adams on the Kirk Cousins bandwagon.
In an appearance on inaugurl 2 Gs in a Pod show, Adams was asked which quarterbacks he would like to catch passes from, outside of his former teammate Aaron Rodgers. To be clear, the question was presented as not being based on who Adams or wants or who is available, though his answer did mention Cousins's potential availability.
"You know what, I'll say this. It's a couple quarterbacks I really like out there," said Adams. "It depends on what you're saying. If we're talking about a dude that can just find somebody, I mean, I like Kirk Cousins. I think Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback. As far as availability, I think Kirk's a good player."
Adams added that "Jordan Love looking real good right now" and that C.J. Stroud "may be No. 1" on his list. But it's hard to ignore that Adams mentioned Cousins' potential availability.
Despite an, at times, frustrating year, Adams still caught 103 passes for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns for his fourth straight 1,000-yard season. The Raiders started three different QBs in 2023 with rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell getting a majority of the starts in Vegas.
Much like the Vikings, Vegas' future at QB is uncertain, leaving the possibility of a team-up between the former NFC North rivals in Vegas. Cousins, who will be 36 years old when the 2024 season begins, has produced 1,000-yard receivers in each of his six seasons in Minnesota.
Cousins is out of a contract in March and looks poised to cash in with a number of potential suitors looking for a veteran QB to get them over the hump. With just over $36 million in cap space the Raiders could be a potential landing spot for Cousins, so too could Atlanta, Pittsburgh and New England, just to name a few.
