Ex-Viking Eric Moss, half-brother of Randy Moss, dies at 44
Former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Eric Moss died at the age of 44 on Sunday.
Moss was the half brother of Viking great Randy Moss, who paid tribute to him in an Instagram post saying "RIP gentle giant!"
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Eric Moss," the Vikings said in a statement. "Moss, who was with the Vikings in 1997 and 1998, passed away at the age of 44."
His cause of death hasn't been announced.
According to the Gazzette Mail out of West Virginia, Moss was penciled in as the starting left tackle at Ohio State University in 1994 where he would've played opposite All-American right tackle Korey Stringer, who would go on to play for the Vikings before his untimely death at training camp in 2001.
Moss didn't keep the starting job that season because he was replaced by future NFL Hall of Fame tackle Orlando Pace.
