Were the crowds at Taylor Swift's concerts at U.S. Bank Stadium louder than the crowds at a Vikings game? We don't know. Does it matter? Um ... apparently?

There is a sub-section of discussion in Vikings circles on Twitter regarding the claims by some of the Swifties in attendance Friday and Saturday that the concert was as loud as they've ever heard U.S. Bank Stadium.

Among those making the claim is Matthew Coller, owner of Vikings news site and podcast Purple Insider and regular Bring Me The Sports contributor, who described Swift's concert as "like the Minneapolis Miracle energy 15 different times."

This in turn led to some robust responses from certain sections of the Vikings fandom.

"This was the Swift fans' Super Bowl and every hit song was a touchdown.. does that help?" Coller said.

"Swift had about 15 different moments where it matched Miracle energy in there, which is what I tweeted," Coller told Bring Me The Sports. "I can’t say for sure if Swift topped it noise wise because I was sitting in two different locations. But the place went absolutely through the roof when she came out and during a bunch of her hit songs."

From those who have been to both, there was agreement.

It's not like Vikings fans are shortchanged when it comes to praise for the atmosphere they generate. The cacophonous nature of U.S. Bank Stadium that actually makes it broadly awful for live music makes it incredible for live sports – and ever since it opened it has proven to be a huge advantage for the Vikings against visiting teams.

Still, we live in combative times and social media arguments are a new form of currency.

A direct comparison is made somewhat difficult because the concert had music blaring from massive speakers, which the Minneapolis Miracle did not. As such, it's hard to say for certain whether the Swiftie crowd noise matched or exceeded the 120 decibels achieved by Viking fans on Jan. 14, 2018, when Stefon Diggs crossed into the end zone to beat the New Orleans Saints on a logic-defying last play.

Still, the moment Taylor Swift announced she would be playing "Dear John" for the first time in ten years is probably the closest you'll come to a Vikings-style explosion of cheers. You can see it in the video below at 5:10.
