The Minnesota Gopher football team made another move up in the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Sunday, going up three spots to rank 21st in the nation.

The move comes just before the Gophers open their season against No. 19 Michigan on Saturday. The opener comes with plenty of hype as ESPN will bring its "College Gameday" show to Minneapolis for the second time in program history.

The Gophers will look to build off a 2019 season where their 11-2 record was their best since 1904. To do that, they'll have the services of quarterback Tanner Morgan and wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who were both named to the Big Ten preseason honors list on Friday.

With a total of five teams in the Big Ten appearing on the poll, the Gophers will have plenty of competition as they look to capture their first conference title since 1960.
