Justin Jefferson tells fantasy players 'I DON'T CARE' amid injury recovery
Justin Jefferson has no time to respond to fan questions about his availability.
Jefferson, who has missed the last six games with a strained hamstring, posted on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday morning saying "My health is wayyyy more important than you winning your fantasy games. It doesn't matter how many times y'all flood my dms talking about me selling your team. I DONT CARE."
Jefferson was injured Oct. 8 against the Chiefs. There was speculation that he might've been ready to return against the Broncos, but the Vikings elected to hold him out Sunday night and now the decision is whether to bring him back for Monday night's game against the Bears or let him rest that game and the following bye week before returning Dec. 10 against the Raiders.
"[Jefferson] had a really good week last week," head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday when asked about Jefferson's progress and the plan for him this week. "We'll continue to push him more."
O'Connell did acknowledge that extra rest with the bye following the Bears game will be considered when deciding what to do with Jefferson.
"That will definitely go into the decision-making process," O'Connell said. "It's one of those things, knowing you have the bye and have five critical opportunities after the bye we do have to be smart."
Will Justin Jefferson play against the Chicago Bears?
Jefferson has previously said he'll be the main person deciding when the time is right for his return.
"I'm the main person that's going to make the decision at the end of the day. I'm the person that's going out there running. I'm the person that's going out there and putting my body on the line to win games and do things for this organization. I know how I feel, I know how my hamstring is feeling," Jefferson said Nov. 16. "Of course we're going to weigh in on all the different opinions and what everyone has to say, but at the end of the day I'm the one that's going out there and putting my body on the line."
