Kirk Cousins rises by 57 spots on NFL Top 100 list
A 13-4 record and an NFC North title has boosted Kirk Cousins up to No. 42 in the NFL's annual Top 100 list, which is voted on by players.
Cousins joins Harrison Smith (97th) as the only Vikings players to make the list so far. TJ Hockenson narrowly missed out, coming in at No. 105 on the annual list, while now-former Vikings Eric Kendricks and Dalvin Cook ranked 93rd and 91st respectively.
Despite most of Cousins' numbers regressing a little last year the clutch performances, come-from-behind wins and maybe a little 'Kirko Chainz' have helped the Vikings quarterback make a 57 spot jump in 2023.
The 34-year old QB is higher on the list than eight other QBs:
- No. 51 Aaron Rodgers
- No. 56 Dak Prescott
- No. 66 Jared Goff
- No. 72 Lamar Jackson
- No. 77 Geno Smith
- No. 82 Tua Tagovailoa
- No. 86 Justin Fields
- No. 96 Trevor Lawrence
What's more, he's likely to be the 6th highest ranked quarterback on the list, with Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and Justin Herbert the only top QBs yet to be named.
"For a quarterback with a reputation of disappearing in big moments, Cousins certainly made the jaws of defeat look toothless last year," NFL.com wrote.
NFL.com has so far only listed picks 41-100. Expect Justin Jefferson to make the Top 10 – probably the Top 5, let's be honest – and perhaps a spot for Christian Darrisaw?
