Despite a storm of rumors and speculation surrounding his future in Minnesota, Kirk Cousins won't be drawn into discussion about a possible midseason trade.

When asked Wednesday about the possibility of waiving his no-trade clause, Cousins responded "I'm just very focused on the Bears and going 1-0 this week. Anything else is not worth my time, energy, or attention."

Speculation about a Cousins trade has been nearly nonstop since the Vikings front office decided not to extend Cousins beyond the 2023 season. The Vikings are set to eat a $28 million dead cap hit if Cousins heads elsewhere in the offseason.

National media have repeatedly linked Cousins with a trade to the New York Jets after Aaron Rodgers' Achilles injury in Week 1. With the Vikings sitting at 1-4 after Sunday's loss and the added impact of Justin Jefferson hitting injured reserve, the rumors and speculation of a Cousins trade have increased.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has so far refused to let the 1-4 start change his mind on whether the Vikings can compete. If the Vikings lose to the Bears this weekend, there will certainly be even more calls for the Vikings to sell and look towards the future, especially since the undefeated 49ers await on Oct. 23.
