Lake Minnetonka cruise with ex-Vikings players is postponed
The Lake Minnetonka cruise with former Minnesota Vikings Bryant McKinnie, Robert Griffith and Byron Chamberlain scheduled for next week has been postponed.
The event was to benefit Griffith's Griff24Seven Foundation and was scheduled to be held June 18, but has been pushed back due to a "scheduling conflict," Griffith's website says.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment. We are however rescheduling the cruise for a later date this summer. So please stay tuned," the website says
Griffith's foundation provides college scholarships to underprivileged high school seniors.
Tickets for the event were $125, and set to go up to $150 after June 11, with Griffith promoting the event as a chance to hang out with former players and get autographs.
It had been rumored that the fundraiser on Lake Minnetonka would also include other former players, such as Daunte Culpepper, John Randle, Chad Greenway and Tommy Kramer, Vikings Territory said.

And although this summer's boat cruise is for charity, it hasn't stopped some from dubbing the event "Love Boat 2.0."
McKinnie on Lake Minnetonka is sure to spring memories of the 2005 "Love Boat" debacle, where two massive boats hit the waters of Lake Minnetonka for an alleged sex party. In the end, six players including Culpepper, Fred Smoot and McKinnie received misdemeanors. The cruise inspired a 77-page Code of Conduct for the franchise.
