Oli Udoh suffered season-ending quad injury in Thursday night loss to Eagles

Udoh started left tackle Thursday in place of injured Christian Darrisaw

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell announced Friday that offensive lineman Oli Udoh suffered a season-ending quad injury in Thursday night's 34-28 loss to the Eagles.

Udoh, 26, started Thursday's game at left tackle in place of injured Christian Darrisaw, but was carted off after being hit by Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat.

Udoh was in his fifth NFL season after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, making 18 starts in 43 games for Minnesota.

It will mean even less depth in the offensive line for the Vikings, which has already been struggling to provide protection to quarterback Kirk Cousins and clear running lanes for Alexander Mattison.

It remains to be seen whether the Vikings will now make a move for a free agent to replace Udoh.
