The City of Minneapolis hasn't been this purple since Prince passed away.

As the Vikings prepare for a crucial NFL playoff game this weekend, the team announced several area landmarks will be lit purple as part of its "Bring It Home" campaign.

That includes the I-35W bridge, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, IDS Center, Lowry Avenue Bridge, Mall of America, Nicollet Mall, and Target Corporate.

“Vikings fans everywhere are excited to cheer our team to victory in the playoffs this weekend,” Gov. Mark Dayton said in a news release. “I urge all Minnesotans to show our Purple Pride ahead of the big game. Go Vikings!”

The Vikings have also released the team’s “Bring It Home” video that features current and former players, celebrities and community leaders:

Minnesota Twins president Dave St. Peter says Target Field is also taking part in painting the city purple.

The purple takeover begins on Friday. Fans are encouraged to follow suit by lighting or decorating their house in Vikings purple.

The Vikings host the New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon, with the winner advancing to the NFC title game.

Every seat inside U.S. Bank Stadium will have a “Bring it Home” rally towel, and T-shirts will be available for purchase on Sunday.

Additionally, all Twin Cities-area Hy-Vee Market Grilles will be distributing the rally towels to the first 200 guests who order during Sunday’s game.

Fans have a chance to win two tickets to Sunday's game by posting a “Bring it Home” video to social media with the hashtag #BringItHome by Saturday morning.
