Is it just a matter of time before Dalvin Cook is taking handoffs from Aaron Rodgers? Time will tell but according to FS1's Craig Carton, Cook will meet with the Jets on Sunday and New York is his "preferred destination" and that $1 million is all that is separating the two sides.

"At this moment, it's just kind of taking my time and being patient with the process," Cook said this past weekend in an interview with KSTP-TV. Cook was in Minnesota hosting his annual football camp.

"You can't rush this," continued Cook. "This is a life decision that can put me in a great predicament for my future. I'm just taking my time and I'm not rushing it. When I make that decision it's going to be right for me and my family."

The market for high-priced running backs isn't great at the moment, but Saquan Barkley signed a one-year deal for $11 million with the New York Giants to avoid signing a franchise tag agreement worth about $10.1 million.

Cook would immediately slot in as the top running back in New York, though he could have some stiff competition when Breece Hall is activated from the physically unable to perform list. The Jets hope Hall will be ready for Week 1 as he puts the finishing touches on his torn ACL rehab.
