According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Vikings and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson have agreed to push back the void date on his contract to March 15th.

Yates reports that Tomlinson's contract was set to void within the past couple days, which would have put $7.5 million of dead money on the Vikings cap this season, and made Tomlinson a free agent.

Over The Cap currently has The Vikings at $25 million over the cap right now.

Agreeing to a contract extension with Tomlinson would create cap space this offseason by spreading out the cap hit over multiple seasons.

Tomlinson, 28, played in 13 games for Minnesota this season, registering 2.5 sacks. His 77.6 pass rushing grade by Pro Football Focus was the highest over a season in his career.
