Marcus Davenport has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Davenport will stay within the NFC North after spending the 2023 with the Vikings. The edge rusher joined the Vikings last offseason after five underwhelming years in New Orleans.

Davenport was a first-round pick by the Saints in the 2018 draft but injuries plagued him in New Orleans where he started more than 10 games just once and never finished a full season. Injuries followed Davenport to Minnesota where he only played in four games, none after the Week 6 win in Chicago where he played a total of 17 snaps.

Minnesota have already filled out replacements for Davenport and, possibly, Danielle Hunter by signing Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel during Monday's negotiating window ahead of free agency opening Wednesday.
