Patrick Peterson will not be returning to the Minnesota Vikings for a third season. The free agent has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Peterson was a guest on Adam Schefter's podcast on Sunday and he said he'd be interested in signing with the Bengals, Cowboys and Eagles. He didn't mention the Steelers, only saying he was chasing an elusive Super Bowl ring.

"I'm playing for jewelry at this period in my career," Peterson said. "I want to be able to be with the team that's going to be in the position that's going to be in the playoffs. That's the first step. Every team is not promised a championship no matter how good the team is. I want to be on a team that can get in the playoffs first and foremost, and that's able to compete for a championship. At this moment, I'm looking for a team that can help provide jewelry."

Only nine teams have worse odds to win the Super Bowl next season than Pittsburgh.

Schefter is reporting that Peterson is getting a two-year deal from the Steelers.
