Could it be that they want to move up and draft a quarterback?

More smoke about the Minnesota Vikings hoping to move up in the NFL Draft, this time from Sportsnaut's Benjamin Allbright, who has covered the NFL for years and has been intimately close to the Broncos as an insider at KOA radio in Denver.

"Didn't do trades," Allbright said of his mock draft released Wednesday, "though we know Arizona and Atlanta would like to move down, and Minnesota has been calling about moving up."

Allbright is far from alone when it comes to viewing the Vikings as a potential mover and shaker on draft night. Numerous reports say the Vikings have done their homework on quarterbacks and Star Tribune insider Ben Goessling said Tuesday that the Vikings are "keen" on some of the big-name quarterbacks, including Anthony Richardson

Goessling then went ahead and predicted the Vikings to move up to the 11th pick in a trade with the Titans to select Richardson. In theory it makes sense and Goessling noted that his mock is better described as an educated guess rather than throwing something at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Peter King has also mocked Richardson to the Vikings without trading up, which would assume that Richardson falls all the way to 23. Does King have inside info?

"It's just common sense that they would be looking into any option or any possibility that would result in them getting an elite prospect in this draft because of the way Kirk Cousins's contract is set up," says Purple Insider's Matthew Coller.
