The Vikings have moved to sign Andre Carter II to one of the biggest deals every for an undrafted free agent.

That's according to NFL.com's Tom Pelissero, who says the Vikings have agreed a deal with the former Army edge rusher to a $300,000 base salary with a $40,000 signing bonus.

This, Pelissero says, is a "sign they believe Carter can make the active roster."

Carter II was one of 15 undrafted free agents who agreed terms with the Vikings following the end of last week's NFL Draft, during which the Vikings only had five picks, though traded down for a sixth.

And it's clear by making such a financial commitment that Carter was someone that interested the Vikings team, and he'll join those fighting for a place in Brian Flores' defense.

Carter was able to pursue his NFL dream thanks to President Joe Biden signing the 2023 omnibus appropriations bill, which allowed Army players to defer their active military service until after their NFL career.
