Report: Vikings to meet with LSU QB Jayden Daniels
The Vikings are having a formal meeting Tuesday night with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, according to Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler.
Daniels, 23, threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions for the Tigers last season. In a recent mock draft from The Athletic, Daniels was projected to be selected No. 3 overall in the 2024 NFL draft by the New England Patriots.
The Vikings have the No. 11 overall pick.
Fowler also reported that Daniels will be meeting with the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints and Patriots on Tuesday. Daniels will be meeting with the Washington Commanders on Wednesday, per Fowler.
There have been reports in recent weeks tying the Vikings to the Patriots and No. 3 pick. KSTP’s Darren Wolfson recently said on the “Mackey and Judd” podcast that the Vikings and Patriots had preliminary talks about the No. 3 pick, however, how far those talks might have gotten is unknown.
The Vikings hired Josh McCown as their quarterbacks coach on Tuesday. As a longtime journeyman quarterback himself, McCown should be able to help guide any newcomer should the Vikings take a swing for a quarterback high in the draft.
