Monday presented another twist – albeit not a surprising one – in the Danielle Hunter offseason saga as it was reported the pass rusher will not be attending the Minnesota Vikings' minicamp on Tuesday.

With Hunter holding out for a better contract and the Vikings seemingly some ways off on what he wants, the question is now whether a deal can be reached or if the Vikings will trade him.

There have already been reports of interest from other NFL teams for the 28-year-old, and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler tweeted on Monday an interesting tidbit about the Vikings' likely asking price.

"Early pulse from talking to a few teams: -Danielle Hunter would have real trade value (might take a 2+ to pry)," Fowler said.

That would be at least a 2nd-round pick, presumably for the 2024 draft, with the "+" suggesting the Vikings could potentially be looking for a 1st rounder. or multiple picks, or possibly a pick + player trade.

In any case, Fowler notes that the "sense is Vikings would prefer to retain him."

Despite there being a number of teams interested, ESPN's Kevin Seifert reports "there have been no serious trade talks to date."
