Stefon Diggs, Case Keenum win ESPY Award for the 'Minneapolis Miracle'
There was really never any doubt about it, but Stefon Diggs said his heart was beating out of his chest after he accepted the ESPY Award for "Best Moment" on Wednesday night.
Diggs, joined by former Vikings quarterback Case Keenum on stage, won the award over three other finalists:
- Notre Dame's buzzer beater in the Final Four of the women's NCAA Tournament.
- The Vegas Golden Knights advancing to the Stanley Cup Final.
- 16-seed University of Maryland-Baltimore County's historic victory over No. 1 seed Virginia in the men's NCAA Tournament.
"If I could leave you with anything I would say, don't stop playing till the clock hits zero. It's crazy, it's cliche, but anything could happen," Diggs said during his acceptance speech.
Keenum was with Diggs on stage but didn't talk.
Minnesota will get a chance to play against Keenum when his Denver Broncos – the team that signed him to a two-year, $36 million contract – hosts the Vikings on Aug. 11 in the first week of the preseason.
