He is now one of the players that Twins' fans love to hate, but at one point, most of them loved him. Former Twins catcher A.J. Pierzynski reached a major career milestone Wednesday night.

Pierzynski, who played for the Twins from 1998-2003, recorded his 2,000th career hit Wednesday night while playing for the Braves in Boston.

Love him or hate him, Pierzynski will go down as one of the best hitting catchers in the game. Over his 19-year Major League career, Pierzynski hit .282 with 186 home runs and 890 RBIs.

He was drafted by the Twins in the third round of the 1994 draft. He was traded to San Francisco before the 2004 season in a deal that included closer Joe Nathan.
