The Vikings will play on national television five times this season and finish up with the three straight games against NFC North rivals.

Kevin O'Connell will have a good chance of winning his second straight season opener when the Vikings host the Buccaneers in week one at US Bank Stadium. The Bucs are presumed to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season.

The schedule makers showed their wrath immediately after with a Week Two date in Philadelphia four days later on the first Thursday Night Football game of the season.

Minnesota then have two weeks of reunions when Eric Kendricks and the Chargers come to town in Week Three followed up by a trip out to Carolina to face Adam Thielen's new team.

With Week Six and Week Eight games at the Bears and Packers, the Vikings will avoid any late season outdoors NFC North contests. A Monday Night Football clash with the 49ers is sandwiched in between.

The Vikings will then take on the Falcons in Atlanta in Week Nine with another NFC South clash the week after when they host the Saints.

Minnesota will have back-to-back national TV games when they visit the Broncos on Sunday Night Football in Week 11 and host the Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 12.

O'Connell will get a well-timed late season bye week in Week 13, the weekend of Dec. 2-3.

The final five games of the season kick off with the Vikings' first regular season trip out to Vegas to take on the Raiders on Dec. 10, then a visit to Cincinnati to take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals on a yet to be determined day in Week 15.

Three straight divisional games close out the season with the Lions coming to town on Christmas Eve, the home finale against the Packers on a New Year's Eve edition of Sunday Football, and the season finale at the Lions on Jan. 7.
