The Rams are reportedly looking to move on from six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The 28-year-old cornerback had the 11th highest coverage grade among all cornerbacks last season according to PFF.

"Ramsey is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL over the last decade so any team that ends up with him is going to be better," Purple Insider's Matthew Coller said in a Friday night chat with Bring Me The Sports. "Of course the Vikings should check in on the price tag but it doesn't appear likely that they would be able to acquire or afford him with their lack of draft assets and cap space."

Ramsey's cap hit next season is $25.2 million and the following two years are both $20+ million cap hits. Those figures make any deal for Ramsey an incredibly tough thing to pull off for a Vikings team already $24 million over the cap.

The Vikings would most likely also struggle to put together a competitive package to convince the Rams of a trade considering Minnesota holds just four picks in the upcoming draft.

While a trade makes obvious sense for the Vikings, considering their struggles at the position outside of Patrick Peterson last season, making it work a math problem that Einstein might struggle with.

Coller says to watch out for the Lions as a potential trade candidate for the cornerback. Detroit holds eight picks, including five in the first three rounds. One of their two first-round picks is the Rams' from the trade that sent Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles.
