Trent Sherfield is the newest free agent to sign with the Minnesota Vikings. He’s reportedly agreed to a one-year deal and joins a wide receiver room that includes Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Brandon Powell.

The 28-year-old had 11 catches and a touchdown in limited action with the Bills last season, but when give bigger roles he has produced. In 2022 he had 30 catches for 417 yards and two touchdowns with the Miami Dolphins.

It’s unclear what kind of role he could play in Minnesota, but his signing could indicate that K.J. Osborn, who is a free agent, won’t be back with the Vikings in 2024.

Sherfield would currently be competing against the likes of Trishton Jackson and N’Keal Harry for the WR4 role.

In 2021, Sherfield joined the 49ers and caught nine passes for 87 yards with a score after playing his first three seasons with Arizona.
