The Minnesota Wild could be without superstar forward Kirill Kaprizov for a month after he went down with a lower-body injury in Minnesota's 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night.

The team announced Thursday afternoon that Kaprizov will be out 3-4 weeks. Details about the injury haven't been provided, with the team only referring to it as a lower-body injury.

Kaprizov was injured in the third period when Winnipeg's Logan Stanley ran into him from behind and fell on top of him. The 25-year-old Wild star crumbled to the ice and did not return to the game.

Kaprizov leads Minnesota with 39 goals and 35 assists.

If he misses three weeks he could return sometime around March 30, but four weeks would keep him out until around April 6. That's bad news for Minnesota as they compete for the Central Division title and one of the top spots in the Western Conference, but good news because he could be back in time for the playoffs in mid-April.

Minnesota could recall ex-Gopher Sammy Walker to help fill a scoring void while Kaprizov is out.
