Marcus Johansson scores twice in late comeback win for shorthanded Wild
The Wild left five of their biggest stars at home and ground out a tough, late-season road win against a Chicago side already eliminated from the playoffs Monday night.
Minnesota struggled for the first two-and-a-half periods but two goals from Marcus Johansson in just under three minutes in the final period completed the comeback.
Gustav Nyquist's empty-net goal with 1:01 left in the game sealed the 4-2 win for the shorthanded Wild as Minnesota stays within two points of Dallas and Colorado for the top spot in the Central Division, though Colorado has played one fewer game than Minnesota and Dallas.
Johansson's two goals were his 16th and 17th points in 19 games since joining the Wild at the trade deadline.
The Wild complete the second night of a back-to-back Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets at the Xcel Energy Center. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m.
