Matt Boldy is putting together one heckuva streak of stellar performances. After his hat trick Sunday in Minnesota's win over the Capitals, Boldy followed with a goal-of-the-year candidate as he beat the overtime buzzer to give the Minnesota Wild a 2-1 road win over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.

The final 20 seconds of overtime were unreal. After Boldy's shot was saved with under 20 seconds on the clock, Devils star Jack Hughes skated the length of the ice and fired a shot off the post, with Boldy collecting the puck in the defensive end and raced ahead on a breakaway before scoring with under one second remaining.

Boldy has been on fire. The 21-year-old has 6 goals and 4 assists in his last six games, which just so happens to be the six games Kirill Kaprizov has missed since suffering a lower-body injury.

The game was scoreless until Mason Shaw put Minnesota ahead 1-0 at 6:41 of the third period. The Devils tied it on Timo Meier's 35th goal of the season with 7:52 left in regulation.

It was the only goal Filip Gustavsson would allow as he made a career-high 47 saves.

Minnesota is 13-1-3 in the last 17 games and with 90 points they are tied with Dallas for first place in the Central Division.

Up next: Wild at Flyers, Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN
