Minnesota Wild promote Bill Guerin to president of hockey operations
Bill Guerin has been promoted to president of hockey operations of the Minnesota Wild, the organization announced Tuesday.
Guerin has been the general manager of the Wild since joining the organization in 2019. In that time the Wild have a 169-90-30 record, making the playoffs four consecutive seasons.
"Four years ago, Bill brought his championship pedigree to our organization and the improvements he's made to our hockey team and organization are self-evident," said Wild owner Craig Leipold. "The results are both tangible and intangible and he continues to demonstrate his talent for building a Stanley Cup contending team. We are excited about what the future holds for fans in the State of Hockey."
Guerin will still lead the Wild's development with roster management and draft duties.
Under Guerin's leadership the Wild recorded consecutive 100-point seasons for just the second time in franchise history in the 2021-22 & 2022-23 seasons.
The next step for the Wild under Guerin is making a deep run in the playoffs. Minnesota hasn't advanced past the first round since 2015.
