Ahead of the expansion draft for the NHL's 32nd team, the Seattle Kraken, the Minnesota Wild has revealed its protected list.

As expected after buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter from their contracts, the Wild have chosen to protect seven forwards, three defenseman and a goalie.

They are:

Goaltender: Cam Talbot

Defensemen: Jonas Brodin, Matt Dumba and Jared Spurgeon.

Forwards: Joel Eriksson Ek, Kevin Fiala, Marcus Foligno, Jordan Greenway, Ryan Hartman, Nico Sturm and Mats Zuccarello.

The Wild's rising star, Kirill Kaprizov, is exempt from the expansion draft as he has fewer than two seasons of NHL experience.

But it means that players available for the Kraken include goalie Kaapo Kahkonen, Nick Bjugstad, Carson Soucy, Victor Rask, and Nick Bonino.
