Minnesota Wild unveil retro jerseys with North Stars colors
A blast of Minnesota hockey past is fresh in the air this week after the Minnesota Wild unveiled North Stars-themed uniforms that they will wear on occasion this coming NHL season.
Dubbed the Adidas Reverse Retro jerseys, the Wild will sport what it calls a "unique combination of the North Stars' 1978 jersey with the current Minnesota Wild crest."
This Reverse Retro jersey is the first time the beloved North Stars green and gold colorway has been worn by the Minnesota Wild, complete with era-specific drop-shadow numbers," the team said in its announcement.
Fans can purchase the jersey online at hockeylodge.com and at both Minnesota Wild Hockey Lodge store, located at Xcel Energy Center and Southdale Mall in Edina.
The jersey costs $180 and it's an extra $70 if you want a Wild player's name and number stitched on the back, or an extra $35 to get a custom name on the back. Adding a custom name also delays shipping by 10-12 weeks.
The retro jerseys will be available in person at The Hockey Lodge Dec. 1-5.
It's not yet clear when the Wild will wear the uniforms as the start date for the 2020-21 season hasn't been announced, nor has a schedule.
