William Nylander picked up a loose puck deep in the Wild zone and slipped around a pair of Minnesota defenders to score an overtime winner 1:05 into the extra period, giving Toronto a 2-1 win over Minnesota Friday night.

Both Toronto and Minnesota killed off late third-period power plays as the low-scoring game was destined for overtime.

Minnesota's overtime loss draws them to within one point of Winnipeg for second in the Central Division.

Brandon Duhaime continued his hot goal-scoring form with his third in the last four for the Wild's lone goal.

The Wild return home to host Columbus Sunday afternoon.
