Wild score five straight as they cruise past Kraken
The Seattle Kraken scored first and last, but the Wild scored five in between in a 5-2 victory Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
The Wild (28-24-6) scored two first-period goals after Vince Dunn got the Kraken (24-22-11) on the board first with a goal 36 seconds into the contest.
Marcus Johansson tied it up 4 minutes, 59 seconds into the period and Kirill Kaprizov made it a 2-1 game 8 minutes, 33 seconds later.
Minnesota kept them coming in the second period. First, Matt Boldy scored on the power play 1 minute, 9 seconds into the frame, then Kaprizov scored his second of the night 1 minute, 5 seconds later. Dakota Mermis added a third for the period at the 6:58 mark as the Wild took a 5-1 advantage into the third period.
Jordan Eberle got one back for Seattle 6 minutes, 11 seconds into the third, but the Kraken couldn't find another as the Wild cruised to the victory.
Marc-Andre Fleury had 31 saves on 33 shots for Minnesota.
The Wild return to action on Tuesday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes at Xcel Energy Center. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
