Wild select Marco Rossi 9th overall in NHL Draft
The Minnesota Wild added a center to their lineup as they selected Marco Rossi with the ninth overall pick in Tuesday night's NHL Draft.
Rossi is a top center prospect in this year's class thanks to a two-way game that has the ability to create offensively and hold his own on the defensive end. The 19-year-old starred for the Ottawa 67's racking up 120 points (39 G, 81 A) last season and has a strong frame despite standing at 5-foot-9 and 187 pounds.
Rossi should fill a big void on the Wild's roster as they've been looking for depth at center throughout the offseason. Although they added Jeff Bjugstad and Marcus Johannson via trade, Rossi represents another blue-chip prospect to a roster that will finally add Kirill Kaprizov this upcoming season.
