The hottest team in the Western Conference continues to be the Minnesota Wild, who improved to 8-0-1 in their last nine games with a 3-0 win in Calgary Saturday night.

Matt Boldy ripped a close-range shot into the top of the net with 3:30 left in the third period to give Minnesota an insurmountable 3-0 lead – piggybacking on earlier goals from Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Foligno while Filip Gustavsson continued his dominance in net.

Gustavsson made 31 saves and is now 6-0-2 with a 1.32 goals-against average in his last eight starts.

"He's been awesome," Boldy said after the game. "Nothing but good things to say. He's been standing on top of his head and making saves when he has to, saves he should make and saves he shouldn't make. He's making it easy for us."

Minnesota's win keeps them within three points of Dallas and four points ahead of Winnipeg for second place in the Central Division. Colorado is also right there, just five points behind the Wild with three games in hand.

Joel Eriksson Ek opened scoring in the first period with his 22nd goal of the season while Marcus Foligno scored his first goal since early January for the Wild's second of the night.

After playing their sixth game in the last ten days, the Wild will have a couple days off before returning home to host the Flames Tuesday night.

Note: John Klingberg was a plus-three in 19:09 of ice time in his debut after being traded to the Wild on Friday.
