Ohio Bobcats vs. Buffalo Bulls Prediction for Today, 11/7 on ESPN2

Before we officially lay out our Ohio vs. Buffalo picks, it’s important to look at how these teams have performed this season, specifically more recently. For the Bobcats, they’ve dropped two of their last three after starting this season at 5-1. This is a team that relies heavily on their defense to not only keep them in games but win some as well. Defensive ends Shane Bonner and Bradely Weaver lead the squad with three sacks a piece.

On the Bulls side of the equation, they’ve now won three of their last five after getting off to a dreadful 0-4 start to this campaign. Although their defense isn’t quite as dominant as their opposition here, Buffalo also relies heavily on that particular unit. Safety Devin Grant has been an absolute nightmare for opposing offenses, as he’s recorded five interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

Ohio vs. Buffalo Picks & CFB Best Bets for Today, 11/7 Highlighting Bulls +7

A loss for either team here would essentially knock them out of the MAC East race with three conference losses on their resume. This is why our Ohio vs. Buffalo prediction sees a close game, as both teams will be fighting to stay alive for a berth in the MAC Championship Game.

The Bobcats have posted some fairly awful numbers on the offensive side of the ball this season, ranking 78th or worse in the nation in most major statistical categories. Their best aspect is the passing game (218.7 yards per game), but that won’t match up well with Buffalo’s 38th-ranked pass defense at just 204.2 yards per game. While the Bulls struggle to stop the run, Ohio hasn’t displayed the ability to consistently run the ball in this campaign.

It’s definitely going to be tough sledding for the Buffalo offense against this stout Bobcat defense, but there may be a silver lining. The Bulls have actually amassed at least 136 rushing yards in three straight outings. Combine that with the fact that Ohio allowed 188 yards on the ground their last time out and Buffalo may be able to do more damage than what’s expected.

All in all, even if the Bulls aren’t able to pull off the upset, they should be able to keep this one within a touchdown. They’ve covered the spread in four of their last six games, while the Bobcats have dropped three consecutive in that department. We’ll gladly take the points and make the Bulls +7 (-110 at FanDuel) our favorite Ohio vs. Buffalo prediction.
