While it may seem like a quiet time of the year for college football fans after spring games wrapped up and we move into the summer, it's anything but quiet for fans' favorite teams and their coaches as they embark on an ever-more competitive recruiting campaign, especially as official visits pick up in the month of June.

Where things are now: 2024 college football recruiting rankings

Many high school players choose the beginning of the summer as the best time to get on the road and meet with recruiters and coaches and see programs for themselves before they make the key decisions about the future careers.

But the month of May was plenty active, too, as we saw a number of high-profile prospects make their commitments known, a taste of what may be to come as we move into what's expected to be a more active summer recruiting period.

Who made out last month? College Football HQ takes a look at the teams that won the month of May.

Tennessee

Josh Heupel put the Vols back on the map a year ago by producing the No. 1 offense in college football and has so far parlayed that success into some solid recruiting gains: 12 commitments so far, including two in May.

Kellen Lindstrom: A 6-foot-6, 240-pound edge rusher out of Missouri who boasts top-flight play speed and disruptive capability, combined with change of direction skill and power.

Peyton Lewis: The four-star tailback is a home-run threat out of the backfield with size and power combined with evasive agility and is a capable pass catcher out of the backfield.

Ify Obidegwu: A highly promising cornerback with ease of motion in pass coverage, regarded as a consensus four-star and top-25 player at his position nationally.

Dillon Gresham: A four-star, top-50 wide receiver out of California, Gresham finished his junior season with 90 catches for 2,051 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Four commitments for the back-to-back College Football Playoff national champions as Kirby Smart continues his aggressive recruiting approach, with major gains, none more so than the No. 1 player in the 2024 recruiting rankings.

Dylan Raiola: The five-star quarterback is the consensus top overall player in this cycle and his pledge to Georgia could have huge reverberations in 2024.

Jaden Reddell: A 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end from Missouri, ranked as the No. 1 at his position by On3 Sports and as a unanimous top-five by the other services, who picked the Bulldogs after Raiola's pledge, boasting elite size, speed, and athleticism.

Marcus Harrison: A mammoth offensive tackle coming in at 6-foot-7 and 335 pounds, another important gain for Georgia when scouting OTs in the Northeast.
