Colorado vs. Nebraska picks, predictions: Week 2 college football computer picks, betting lines, odds
Well hello, Colorado. Coming into Deion Sanders' first season as head coach of the Buffaloes program, there was plenty of skepticism and trepidation about thinking this team could do anything right away. Those predictions went in the trash, for one week at least, after the Buffs offense exploded for 45 points in an epic upset of ranked TCU despite being three-touchdown underdogs. Now comes the next challenge, in the home opener against Nebraska in college football's Week 2 action on Saturday.
Shedeur Sanders had the best day of any Colorado quarterback ever, with 510 yards passing in his first game for the program, adding four touchdown passes, while two-way player Travis Hunter had an interception and 119 yards receiving, including two near-touchdown plays. Freshman back Dylan Edwards scored four total touchdowns, including the game-winner on a late fourth down.
Nebraska has a new head coach of its own this season, as Matt Rhule stepped into the role hoping he can bring some of the same turnaround skill he used to help programs like Temple and Baylor, although his debut was yet another close loss for the Huskers. Rhule's team had a 10-3 lead over Minnesota with just over 2 minutes left in regulation before the Gophers rattled off 10 points including a field goal as time expired.
