Defending national champion, No. 1 ranked Georgia takes the next step towards a possible three-peat this week against division rival Vanderbilt in college football's Week 7 action on Saturday.

Georgia is coming off a big win over ranked Kentucky last week and now averaging over 502 total yards per game at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in SEC play.

Vanderbilt is yet to win in conference in three attempts and is 2-5 overall, on a five-game losing streak and at last place in the division standings.

What can we expect from the game? Here's what to watch as Georgia and Vanderbilt meet this weekend, along with our Week 7 game prediction.

What to watch for

1. Fast start. Until last week, Georgia had only scored 17 total points in the first quarter of games, but changed the narrative by putting up two touchdowns in the opening frame against Kentucky. Bulldog quarterback Carson Beck is 6th nationally by completing over 73% of his passes and can get his team on the board quickly.

2. Can Vandy stop anything? When you think of SEC defense, the Commodores don't exactly spring to mind. The unit has struggled in all phases, giving up 420 total yards on average, around 34 points total and 40 to SEC opponents, ranks 114th nationally against the pass, and is 93rd stopping the run.

3. Battle at the line. Georgia ranks 10th nationally by allowing just 13 points per game, an improvement from the 14.3 points it allowed last season. Vanderbilt has made some modest progress throwing the ball, but offensive line is still a weakness, and it ranks 13th in the SEC with 92 yards per game. Vandy struggles to get consistent movement and space up front and will be overmatched from a strength standpoint.

Georgia vs. Vanderbilt prediction

Georgia has outscored Vanderbilt 120-6 in the last three meetings, and there isn't much difference on either side of this one to indicate it will be any closer.

The Bulldogs appear to have found their offensive rhythm just in time for this one and are clicking on all cylinders, combined with the Commodores' relative inability to stop what Georgia can throw at them.

Vanderbilt will leave too many throwing lanes open on the perimeter for Georgia's receivers to exploit, and will struggle keeping the Bulldogs' front-line tacklers out of the inside gaps and stop the Dores' offense from generating much, if any, momentum.
