Oregon vs. Washington picks, predictions: Pac-12 title game odds, lines
As expected, the last-ever edition of the Pac-12 Championship Game will feature the two conference rivals who met earlier this season, and in this rematch not just the league title is on the line, but almost certainly a College Football Playoff berth as undefeated Washington lines up against Oregon on Friday.
- Washington handed the Ducks their only loss of the season, a 3-point decision several weeks ago head-to-head in Seattle
- Since then, the Ducks won six straight games to close out, ranking No. 1 nationally in passing production, 2nd in scoring, and 7th in scoring defense
- Huskies have played close games since the start of Pac-12 conference play, winning games by an average of 6.25 points per game
- Washington is 11th in scoring, 2nd in passing, but 105th in rushing
Oregon vs. Washington picks, predictions
Early computer simulations are siding strongly with the Ducks in the rematch.
That includes the College Football Power Index, a computer prediction model that uses data points from both teams to simulate games 20,000 times and pick a winner.
Oregon comes out ahead in the game in 75.8 percent of simulations, while Washington wins out in the remaining 24.2 percent of sims.
By taking each team's projected scoring margin into account, the computer predicts that Oregon will defeat Washington by an expected 8.8 points, not enough to cover the line on the SI book.
Based on the point spread and total projection, the implied score of the game will be Oregon 39, Washington 29, enough to cover the spread, with the Ducks owning a 76.91 percent chance of victory, compared to the Huskies' chances at 23.09 percent.
