College Football Power Index is a computer prediction tool that uses data points from both teams to simulate games 20,000 times and pick straight-up winners.
This week, the model favors USC to hold serve at home, winning out in 75.3 percent of the simulations, or 15,060 of the total projections.
Conversely, the Bruins are expected to win in the remaining 24.7 percent of sims, or the other 4,940 predictions.
By taking the difference between each team's projected scoring margin per game, the computer predicts that USC will defeat UCLA by 7.5 points, enough to cover the line at SI Sportsbook, which names Southern Cal the 7 point favorite.
