Last weekend saw five games between teams in the top 25 rankings on the same field, and it gave several conference and playoff contenders a chance to make a statement. But was it enough for a change at the No. 1 position in the latest BCS college football rankings as we move deeper into November?

  • Including by Georgia against SEC East challenger Missouri 
  • Ohio State played Rutgers close early, but pulled away
  • Washington dumped USC to stay undefeated, No. 1 in Pac-12
  • Alabama made a statement against LSU in SEC West title chase
  • Seminoles clinch a spot in ACC title game after beating Pittsburgh
  • Cowboys shoot down Sooners in final Bedlam game

College football rankings: What the BCS poll looks like in Week 11

25. North Carolina (AP No. 24). The Tar Heels beat Campbell by a wide margin and replaced USC in most rankings.

24. Iowa (AP unranked). The Hawkeyes play the 131st ranked passing game, 111th rushing attack, and 122nd scoring offense, but they're No. 1 in the Big Ten West.

23. Liberty (AP No. 25). Tops in Conference USA and 9-0 on the year.

22. Notre Dame (AP No. 22). An unexpected loss on the road at Clemson has the Irish at 7-3.

21. Tulane (AP No. 20). Just a loss to Ole Miss keeps the Green Wave from being undefeated, but still in pole position in the AAC.

20. Kansas (AP No. 19). KU took down the Cyclones a week after upsetting the Sooners.

19. James Madison (AP No. 21). Still undefeated, if also ineligible for the postseason.

18. LSU (AP No. 18). A loss at Alabama drops the Tigers to three losses on the year.

17. Oklahoma State (AP No. 15). An emotional win over OU in the final Bedlam game has the Cowboys tied for 1st in the Big 12 at 5-1 in conference play.

16. Missouri (AP No. 16). A hard-fought loss at Georgia puts the Tigers at 7-2 with a date against the Vols upcoming.

15. Tennessee (AP No. 14). Big Orange walloped UConn as expected and ranks 3rd nationally in rushing production.

14. Oklahoma (AP No. 17). Two straight losses has the Sooners out of playoff contention, but still in these rankings.

13. Oregon State (AP No. 12). The Beavers are top 25 in scoring and just beat Colorado to move to 4-2 in Pac-12 play. Six combined points keep them from being undefeated.

12. Utah (AP No. 13). After demolishing the Sun Devils, the Utes and their hard-hitting defense head to Washington to take on the Huskies' potent air game.

11. Louisville (AP No. 11). The apparent No. 2 in the ACC at 8-1 this season.

10. Ole Miss (AP No. 10). After a close win over A&M at home, the Rebels go to Georgia for a chance at what would be the statement of the season.

9. Penn State (AP No. 9). Things looked a little easier against Maryland, but now comes another statement game against Michigan to see if the Lions belong in the Big Ten elite.

8. Oregon (AP No. 6). The balanced Ducks just destroyed Cal and still sit at one loss with USC coming in and a shot at the Pac-12 title well within grasp.

7. Texas (AP No. 7). The Longhorns held off Kansas State at home in a close one and are still inching towards Arlington with a shot at the playoff.

6. Alabama (AP No. 8). A big win at home for LSU as the Tide comes close to clinching the SEC West title.

5. Washington (AP No. 5). After dropping 52 on the Trojans, the undefeated Huskies face a tough late schedule that includes a date against Utah this week.

4. Florida State (AP No. 4). Clinched a spot in the ACC title game by beating Pitt.

3. Michigan (AP No. 2). Still behind the Buckeyes in this and the CFP rankings, the Wolverines go to Penn State in search of what would be a quality win.

2. Georgia (AP No. 1). The champs held off challenger Missouri and while still No. 1 in the AP and Coaches polls, they're still behind OSU here and in the committee room.

1. Ohio State (AP No. 3). The nation's 2nd ranked scoring defense and a perfect record through nine games is enough for both the BCS computers and playoff selectors to be named the top team in college football.
