Week 7 of the college football schedule kicks off today with a few games on the docket that will have a direct impact on how the various division and conference races eventually shake out, not to mention what the playoff will ultimately look like.

That includes a major Pac-12 conference matchup between a pair of top-10 ranked teams playing behind college football's first- and second-ranked total offensive attacks, each looking to get a leg-up in the league title chase, and potentially a spot in the final four-team playoff semifinal.

What are the most important games you should be watching today? Here's your look at the key matchups on the schedule as Saturday football takes off around the country.

College football's best games today: Week 7 schedule, what to watch

All times Eastern

8 Oregon at 7 Washington
Sat., Oct. 14 | 3:30 p.m. | ABC
Stream live: fuboTV (Try for free)
Line: Washington -3

Why watch? The sport's two premier offenses will be featured on the same field. Two elite quarterbacks, two groups of dynamite receivers. But defense could play a role here, as Oregon looks like the slightly more complete team with the bodies up front who can test Michael Penix and his targets. The winner could move into the top five.

Texas A&M at 19 Tennessee
Sat., Oct. 14 | 3:30 p.m. | CBS
Stream live: fuboTV (Try for free)
Line: Tennessee -3

Why watch? A cross-divisional SEC tilt from Rocky Top features a Vols rushing attack that is among the nation's best going up against an Aggies defensive front seven that is as elite in stopping it. A case of the unstoppable force and the immovable object, as A&M looks to notch an important road win, a rarity in the Jimbo era, and Big Orange hopes to avoid a second loss and fall under .500 in conference play.

10 USC at 21 Notre Dame
Sat., Oct. 14 | 7:30 p.m. | NBC
Stream live: fuboTV (Try for free)
Line: Notre Dame -2.5

Why watch? The greatest intersectional rivalry in sports lost some of its luster after Notre Dame took a second loss on the year, all but ensuring it won't make the College Football Playoff, but it still has plenty to play for. Including a chance to give rival USC a black eye in the selection committee's eyes. They're already skeptical of the Trojans' defense, which is yet to turn a corner from last season, and a sketchy effort against the Irish could derail their own playoff chances.

25 Miami at 12 North Carolina
Sat., Oct. 14 | 7:30 p.m. | ABC
Stream live: fuboTV (Try for free)
Line: North Carolina -3

Why watch? Don't let the biggest coaching gaffe in recent memory deter you from the fact that Miami is actually playing pretty efficient offensive football right now. That's thanks in large part to quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, who is top 10 in passing efficiency coming in. Carolina's Drake Maye could make a Heisman statement here, and the Heels are running the ball well and play better defense. A loss here would likely sink the Hurricanes from ACC title contention.

18 UCLA at 15 Oregon State
Sat., Oct. 14 | 8 p.m. | Fox
Stream live: fuboTV (Try for free)
Line: Oregon State -3.5

Why watch? If you like defense, you'll love this game. UCLA's is the best in the nation in yards allowed per play and can stack up well against Oregon State's adept rushing attack, and it could throw quarterback DJ Uiagalelei off his game. How well can the Bruins work against the Beavers' good offensive line? The winner avoids a second conference loss and stays in Pac-12 title contention. The loser could be out.
