Florida Gators' Ricky Pearsall makes insane one-handed catch in game (Video)
We're only four weeks into the 2023 college football season, but we may already have a candidate for the catch of the year, courtesy of Florida Gators wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who hauled in a crazy one-handed reception in Saturday's game.
Pearsall went airborne during the first quarter against Charlotte to make the highlight-worthy catch, adjusting to a high throw from quarterback Graham Mertz. And if the catch itself wasn't good enough, he also weathered a beating from two defenders.
With plenty more football to be played over the next few months, we're sure to see some more catches that could be called the best of the year, but for right now, Pearsall's one-handed grab is at the top of the list for 2023.
Florida opened up a 10-0 lead over Charlotte in the first quarter of Saturday's game and went into the halftime break with a 16-7 lead over the 49ers.
Pearsall came into Saturday's game as the overall leader in receiving production for Florida, catching 20 passes from Mertz with 258 total yards and a touchdown, with a long reception of 50 yards, and an average of 12.9 yards per catch.
