Jim Harbaugh is riding the coaching carousel again this offseason, and now the Michigan coach is expected to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers for a second interview about their head coaching vacancy, according to insiders.

Harbaugh has been linked to the Chargers ever since the franchise fired former head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco in mid-December. The team has met with 15 head coaching candidates, but it is believed that Harbaugh is the first to receive a second interview.

It is also expected that Harbaugh will meet a second time with the Atlanta Falcons organization after he first interviewed with that franchise last week.

Amid that interest from the pro ranks, it bears mentioning that Michigan hasn't exactly given up on Harbaugh.

The school remains in talks with the coach on a deal that insiders report extends to 10 years and is valued at $125 million, but Harbaugh is reportedly asking for language in the contract that prevents him from being fired amid any possible NCAA punishment.

Rumors around Harbaugh's coaching future heated up further late in the season after it was rumored that the Michigan coach hired agent Don Yee, a veteran rep with deep NFL ties, combined with Harbaugh not yet signing a new deal with UM.

Harbaugh went 44-19-1 as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014, playing in three straight NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl. He also earned credibility as a coach by helping turnaround Stanford and then Michigan.
